Injection molding is one of the important methods of material forming. Compared with mechanical processing, it has fewer processing steps, high material utilization, low energy consumption, easy production, and high efficiency. Therefore, it is widely used in the production of daily necessities in industries such as automotive, energy, machinery, electronics, information, and aerospace. According to statistics, 75% of rough-machined parts, 50% of industrial products, and over 70% of processed parts in the home appliance and electromechanical industries require injection molding. The mold industry often drives the development of related industries, and is therefore often called a "profit multiplier." The development trend of the mold and plastic products industry: Step by step, with the transformation and upgrading of the industrial structure, the proportion of high-end products is gradually increasing, and continuous improvement is taking place. Challenge:
A major international automotive parts supplier needed to continuously tumble steel plates and clean parts at their Midwest plant.
HUIWEN Solution:
We made a beautiful chain-driven polypropylene barrel 4 feet in diameter and 18 inches deep. The body is a 1-inch thick shell, thermoformed and butt-welded into a 4-foot diameter tube. The front and rear rings are N/C machined and fit the body like a glove. We added internal paddles to the moving parts because the entire drum rotates on linear bearings. The drum rotation is driven by custom-machined polypropylene sprockets, which are powered by a stainless steel drive unit. The sprockets and paddles are modular, so they can be easily replaced years later.
