Curtain Track Plastic Parts - Custom Injection Mold Processing

 

This morning, I unpacked a sample sent by a customer. It was over a meter long and revealed a curtain track inside, assembled from a long aluminum alloy tube and plastic parts. After obtaining the customer's consent, Engineer Li disassembled the tube, revealing a dozen or so plastic parts of varying sizes. Curtain tracks are used to hang curtains, facilitating their opening and closing, while also adding a touch of aesthetic appeal to the curtain fabric. There are many varieties, including exposed and concealed tracks. Exposed tracks come in a variety of styles, including wooden, aluminum alloy, steel, wrought iron, and plastic-steel rods. Pulleys: There are two main types of pulleys: plastic pulleys without wheels, primarily made of polyethylene, nylon, or polyoxymethylene, and wheeled pulleys with metal rings. Low-quality plastic pulleys are often made from raw materials, resulting in a dull, rough surface that will break and age quickly. Their pull rings are typically made from ordinary bent wire, which will rust over time and stain the curtains. High-quality pulleys are made from plastic modified with fine fillers and additives. The resulting surface is smooth and burr-free, offering improved friction and wear resistance. Pulls are smooth and silent, and the pull rings are made from stainless steel wire, statically and vibratingly ground, resulting in a high-gloss finish.

 

Since the customer didn't have 3D drawings, they sent actual products. Engineer Li weighed and measured each product to obtain relevant information. He then considered the mold layout and design based on the product size and structure, grouping products that could fit into one mold together. He calculated the mold dimensions based on monthly production volume. These dozen products were injection molded in six sets of molds. The glue injection and operation of the six molds are described as follows:

1. Glue injection with a fine sprue point, three sets of single-sided sliders in the rear mold, and ejection of the product with rear ejector pins;

2. Glue injection with a large sprue point, a single-sided slider in the rear mold, and ejection of the product with rear ejector pins;

3. Glue injection with a large sprue point, two sets of single-sided sliders in the rear mold, and ejection of the product with rear ejector pins;

4. Glue injection with a fine sprue point, three sets of single-sided sliders in the rear mold, and ejection of the product with rear ejector pins;

5. Glue injection with a fine sprue point, three sets of single-sided sliders in the rear mold, and ejection of the product with rear ejector pins;

6. Glue injection with a fine sprue point, three sets of single-sided sliders in the rear mold, and ejection of the product with rear ejector pins.

 

We then calculated the unit price based on the product's material, size, and craftsmanship. After confirming the details with the client, we sent them a quote. They were very impressed with our service, expertise, and customization capabilities, and simply reported the proposal to their superiors for confirmation.
