To improve the surface brightness or transparency of the injection molding parts, it is necessary to ensure that the melt filling can not be cooled too fast and has good fluidity. Therefore, melt temperature and mold temperature have a significant effect on the appearance of injection molded parts.
In fact, appropriately increasing the melt temperature by more than ten degrees, and slightly increasing the melt back pressure, and not too slow glue injection can indeed play a better role in improving it, but if there is no mold temperature cooperation, it is difficult to achieve the ideal effect.
When we raise the temperature of the mold to more than 50 degrees (touch the mold by hand will have a slightly hot feeling), injection molding ABS, HIPS, PP, PVC and other common plastics, only need to use the normal melt temperature production, you can easily get the injection molding parts with a bright surface or excellent transparency. If the PC material is injected, the mold temperature needs to rise higher, to more than 80 degrees.
Therefore, in addition to the melt temperature, the effect of mold temperature on the appearance quality of injection molded parts is also crucial, and the effect is obvious. It has become an important condition and common means to solve such problems. The increase in the temperature of the melt can only be enough, too high is easy to produce shrinkage, burning glue and discoloration and other problems.
However, the increase in the temperature of the mold should also have sufficient limits. The mold temperature rises too high. For example, the mold temperature of ABS, HIPS and other hard glue exceeds 80 degrees (it will feel very hot when touched by hand). When the mold temperature of PC exceeds 120 degrees, the injection parts are easy to shrink and other problems, and the production cycle will become too long.
On the contrary, if the injection molding part needs the effect of dumb color, reducing the melt temperature and mold temperature will also have sufficient effect. However, the surface of the mold must be sandblasted or etched, which is an important prerequisite for ensuring the dumb color effect.
