Quality Requirements and Acceptance Rules for Injection Molded Plastic Cosmetic Bottle Manufacturers

Cosmetic packaging Plastic Bottles consist of two parts: the plastic bottle and the plastic cap. The plastic cap can be composed of an outer cap and an inner cap (gasket, stopper). Plastic bottles can be divided into cream bottles and caps, lip gloss bottles and caps, and lotion bottles (jars) and caps. To test whether the product meets the standards, the following tests are conducted: product size, weight, capacity, tightness, drop test, adhesion test, cap compatibility, and cap opening test. Random sampling of 10 samples per batch is required. HUIWEN's quality requirements and acceptance rules for cosmetic bottle manufacturers apply to the inspection of various plastic bottles (including injection molded bottles, blow molded bottles, acrylic bottles, and PP plastic bottles).
 
I. Common Appearance Quality Requirements for Plastic Bottles
 
1. Appearance: Plastic caps should be intact, smooth, and free from cracks, burrs, deformation, oil stains, and shrinkage; threads should be clear and full. The bottle body should be intact, stable, and smooth; the bottle mouth should be straight, smooth, and have full threads; there should be no burrs, holes, obvious marks, stains, or deformation; and the parting line should not be significantly misaligned. Transparent bottles should be clear and transparent.
 
2. Color: The color should be uniform, conforming to the specified color or within the range of the color sample.
 
3. Printing and Hot Stamping (Gold/Silver): Fonts and patterns should be correct, clear, and uniform, without obvious skew, misalignment, or defects; hot stamping (gold/silver) should be complete, without missed areas, misalignment, obvious overlapping, or jagged edges.
 
4. Cleanliness: Clean inside and out, free from free contaminants and ink stains.
 
5. Odor: No odor.
 
6. Outer Packaging: Packaging cartons must be clean and undamaged. A plastic protective bag should be placed inside each carton. Easily scratched bottles and caps should be packaged in a way that prevents scratching. A fixed quantity should be packaged per carton, sealed with tape in a T-shape, and mixed packaging is prohibited. Each delivery must include a factory inspection report. The outer carton must be clearly labeled with the product name, specifications, quantity, production date, and injection molding parts manufacturer information.
 
II. Functional Quality Requirements for Plastic Bottles
 
1. Dimensions: Based on dimensions confirmed by both parties or a sealed sample.
 
2. Weight: Based on weight confirmed by both parties or a sealed sample.
 
3. Capacity: Based on the net content indicated on the bottle or a sealed sample.
 
4. Printing Adhesion and Hot Stamping (Silver): The area of ​​ink or hot stamping (silver) peeling must be less than 0.5 mm².
 
5. The inner liner must fit tightly to the bottle body and must not detach. The effect is subject to the sealed sample.
 
6. Flip-top performance: The cap should flip and close smoothly without breaking after 200 cycles. The tightness and seal should remain consistent with the original condition, without being too loose or too tight.
 
7. Cap fit: The bottle (can) should fit well with the outer and inner caps, with moderate tightness and a tight fit, without any looseness, slippage, misalignment, or unevenness.
 
8. Tightness: The bottle body should fit tightly with the inner stopper and outer cap, without slippage or leakage. (Tested with water).
 
9. Drop test: There should be no separation, breakage, deformation, or pin breakage (this test is not required for PP plastic bottles and acrylic bottles).
 
10. Heat and cold resistance test: After 24 hours at 48±1℃, there should be no breakage, deformation, discoloration, or leakage; after 24 hours at -10℃ to -15℃, there should be no breakage, deformation, discoloration, or leakage.
 
III. Acceptance Rules for Plastic Bottles
 
1. Appearance Inspection Items: GB2828.1 General Inspection Level II Normal Inspection Single Sampling Plan shall be adopted. The Appearance Quality Level (AQL) value and defect types shall be specified.
 
(1) Class A Defects: Cracks, gaps, closed openings, different varieties, incomplete threads, misprints, missing characters, severe misalignment, foreign matter or free contamination inside the bottle, incorrect barcode printing, detached inner liner, one or more black spots or discolored spots ≥0.5mm on the main viewing surface (not allowed on transparent bottles), two or more black spots ≥0.5mm on the back and sides of the bottle. (2) Category B Defects: Page misalignment, ghosting, matte finish with reflection, significant color difference, bubbles or stains on the bottle body, rough edges or burrs, severe dents or deformation, severe scratches or abrasions, uneven bottle wall thickness, incomplete or uneven font printing, incomplete hot stamping, three or more black spots or discolored spots of 0.3mm ≤ black spots ≤ 0.5mm on non-main viewing surfaces (two or more for transparent bottles).
 
(3) Category C Defects: Slightly uneven ink distribution, brush marks, wrinkles, two or more black spots ≤ 0.3mm on the back and sides of the bottle body, scratches or abrasions, free contamination on the bottle exterior, damaged or dirty outer packaging, and improper sealing.
 
2. Dimensions, weight, capacity, tightness, drop test, adhesion test, cap compatibility, and cap opening test: Randomly sample 10 samples per batch. 3. For heat and cold resistance tests, one batch out of every five batches will be randomly selected for inspection, with 10 samples randomly selected from each batch; no sample may fail any test.
 
4. The compatibility of the bottle cap is the primary consideration, with size as a secondary factor.
 
5. New defect types can be added as needed; all standards are based on actual application.
