Common materials with good weather resistance include:
 
- ASA/PC: Excellent cold resistance, high heat resistance, and weather resistance. Recommended for exterior automotive applications such as rearview mirrors, radiator grilles, tailgates, and lamp covers. Also suitable for all-weather housings in motorcycle panels, campervans, small boat hulls, surfboards, garden irrigation equipment, lawnmower housings, sewing machines, telephones, kitchen equipment, and satellite antennas. Furthermore, it can be used to manufacture bearings, gears, cams, bevel gears, various rollers, pulleys, pump impellers, fan blades, worm gears, propellers, screws, nuts, washers, high-pressure seals, oil-resistant gaskets, oil-resistant containers, housings, hoses, cable shears, shear machine pulley sleeves, shaper slides, electromagnetic valve seats, refrigeration equipment, gaskets, bearing cages, various oil lines, pistons, ropes, and drive belts in automobiles and tractors, as well as materials for textile machinery and industrial equipment, and daily necessities and packaging films.
 
- Polyurea: One of the best-known weather-resistant materials in the world. A combination of imported raw materials and a pure polyurea formula gives the product superior weather resistance. It can be used in environments ranging from -20℃ to 80℃, is unaffected by thermal expansion and contraction, cures at low temperatures, and does not crack at high temperatures. It is suitable for all seasons in both northern and southern regions, and is ideal for cold winters in the north or for rooms with underfloor heating.
 
- PMMA: Commonly known as plexiglass, it is the plastic with the best optical properties. Its light transmittance is approximately 92%, and even after accelerated aging for 240 hours, it still maintains 92%. After 10 years of outdoor use, it only drops to 88%, and can transmit ultraviolet light with wavelengths above 270nm. PMMA has excellent weather resistance; even after years of exposure to tropical climates, its transparency and color change are minimal.
 
- PC: A thermoplastic with excellent overall performance. PC's optical properties are second only to PMMA. Its natural color is pale yellow; adding a touch of pale blue results in colorless and transparent products with a light transmittance of 88%. PC is tough yet strong, and its impact strength ranks among the top of thermoplastics. Heat and cold resistant, maintaining stable mechanical properties within a temperature range of -135-120℃.
 
- PS: Along with PMMA and PC, it is considered one of the three major transparent plastics. It has a light transmittance of 88% and a relatively high birefringence. Its optical properties are inferior to PMMA, but its moisture absorption is low, only 0.02%. It can be freely colored and is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic.
 
- PET: Milky white or light yellow, highly crystalline polymer with a smooth and glossy surface. Amorphous PET plastic has good optical transparency and is most commonly used for transparent beverage bottles. It has excellent physical and mechanical properties over a wide temperature range, with a long-term service temperature up to 120℃. It has excellent electrical insulation properties, maintaining good electrical performance even at high temperatures and high frequencies.
 
- SAN: Acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer. Its light transmittance is comparable to PS, but its refractive index is slightly lower. Maximum service temperature is 75-90℃, and its heat distortion temperature is 82-105℃. It has high rigidity, good scratch resistance, and dimensional stability of the finished product. It is mainly used in engineering plastic products, and optically primarily as windows. - NAS: A copolymer of 70% styrene and 30% acrylic resin. It has a light transmittance of up to 90% and a refractive index of 1.533~1.567. It can be used as a second material for positive chromatic aberration testing, but it is generally only used for thin lenses.
 
- TPX: A crystalline transparent plastic with a light transmittance of 90%-92%. Its density is only 0.83 g/cm³, and its lowest refractive index is 1.465. Its UV transmittance is second only to inorganic glass. It has good chemical resistance and good heat resistance. It is mostly used in medical devices, as well as in household appliances, lighting fixtures, food containers, and films.
 
- ADC: Excellent optical properties (92% white light transmittance), strong chemical stability, and high temperature resistance (can withstand 100℃ for long-term use and 150℃ for short-term use). Its surface hardness is 40 times higher than PMMA, making it the hardest existing optical plastic. It is currently the most important thermosetting material in the optical field, therefore, this material is usually formed by casting. Highly resistant to wear, impact, and chemical corrosion, primarily used in spectacle lenses.
 
- OZ-1000: A new type of alicyclic resin developed by Hitachi Chemical Co., Ltd. of Japan. OZ1000 optical plastic has low dispersion, high transmittance, low birefringence, and a saturated water absorption rate only 1/10 that of PMMA. Its optical properties are comparable to PMMA, and its heat resistance is superior. Suitable for precision molding of high-precision lenses.
 
- ARTON: Developed by Japan Synthetic Rubber Co., Ltd. (JSR). Among thermoplastic resins, it has the lightest specific gravity and very low water absorption rate, superior to PMMA. It has good light transmission, low chromatic aberration, a lower birefringence than PC, better heat resistance than PMMA and PC, higher tensile strength than PMMA, and a higher flexural modulus than PC. Suitable for aspherical lenses.
