The production process of plastic products, such as plastic gears, requires equipment such as plastic molds, plastic raw materials, injection molding machines, mold temperature controllers, dryers, and robotic arms. Once the equipment is fixed, the factors affecting the quality of the plastic product are the injection molding parameters. Next, engineers from HUIWEN Injection Molding Plant will share knowledge about injection molding parameters.
Plastic Injection Worm Gear
1. Injection Volume: This refers to the weight of molten plastic injected into the mold cavity by the injection molding machine screw during injection. Different product weights require different injection volumes, and different machine tonnages also affect the injection volume.
2. Injection Speed: This refers to the speed at which the molten material is injected into the mold cavity. Different plastic product structures require different injection speeds.
3. Injection Pressure: This refers to the pressure at which the molten material is injected into the mold cavity. Injection pressure is related to the machine and the structure of the plastic product. Too much pressure can cause flash in the product, while too little pressure can lead to insufficient material. 4. Holding pressure and holding time: To allow the molten material to solidify within the mold cavity, the screw continues to apply pressure and time to the cavity after injection. This pressure is called the holding pressure, and the time is called the holding time. Both the holding pressure and holding time are determined based on the product structure.
5. Clamping force: During the injection and holding phases, reaction forces are generated within the mold cavity, causing the parting line to separate. Therefore, the molding machine's clamping system must provide a certain clamping force to ensure the parting line does not separate.
6. Drying temperature and drying time: Many plastic materials require drying to remove moisture and ensure a good product appearance. The drying temperature and time differ for different materials.
7. Barrel temperature: Different plastic materials have different melting temperatures, and the set temperature varies depending on the location of the plastic material in the barrel.
8. Mold temperature: This refers to the temperature of the mold cavity surface that contacts the product. Mold temperature affects the product's dimensions, appearance, and molding time. Injection molding is a complex physical process, and the eight elements shared above are quite important.
