A Brief Discussion on Factors Affecting the Hardening Speed of Injection Molding
Injection molded parts are now widely used, and the number of companies engaged in injection molding is increasing. When processing injection molded parts, we often need to pay close attention to the hardening speed, as a slow hardening speed will affect the efficiency of the process. So, what factors affect the hardening speed of injection molded parts?
The hardening speed of injection molded parts is closely related to the type of material, the shape of the part, its wall thickness, the molding temperature, and whether preheating and pre-pressing are used. For example, using methods such as ingot pressing, preheating, increasing the molding temperature, and extending the pressurization time can significantly accelerate the hardening speed. Furthermore, the hardening speed of injection molded parts should also be suitable for the requirements of the molding method. For example, in compression molding or injection molding, the chemical reaction during plasticization and filling should be slow, resulting in slow hardening and maintaining a long-term flowable state.
In addition, after filling the cavity, rapid hardening should be achieved under high temperature and high pressure. Plastics with slow curing rates will lengthen the molding cycle and reduce productivity during injection molding; plastics with fast curing rates cannot be molded into complex injection molded parts. Therefore, the curing rate of injection molded parts must be strictly controlled during the injection molding process.
