Abet Laminati was founded in Bra, Italy in 1957. Since then, the company has been at the forefront of innovation in the production of various laminates, including DIAFOS in 1987 – the first transparent laminate material. The company has collaborated with some of the most renowned designers of the 20th century, including Memphis Group and Alchimia design studio, and is known for exploring the texture of product surfaces. "Color Layer" is a unique product produced by Abet Laminati, exploring the functionality and visual artistry of product edges.
The laminate consists of two layers of material with a standard thickness. The core is made of multiple layers of paper impregnated with aminoplastic resin. The surface is made of decorative paper impregnated with melamine formaldehyde resin. Abet uses the decorative layer as the core material for its "Color Layer" products. The edges of the product can be polished to achieve unique edge details.
Material Characteristics:
High abrasion resistance, high impact resistance, excellent moisture resistance, easy adhesion, good water and water vapor resistance, easy to clean, good dimensional stability, high wear resistance, strong decorative properties of the edge surface, more economical compared to other materials with hard surfaces
